The Task Is Ours
Now is the time to free ourselves from samsara. Unless we do it in this lifetime, it is not going to happen all by itself. We have to take care of ourselves. – Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche Click here to learn how you can receive a 30 minute Mindfulness Break in your home. |

Zen is really just a reminder to stay alive and to be awake.
We tend to daydream all the time, speculating about the future and dwelling on the past. Zen practice is about appreciating your life in this moment. If you are truly aware of five minutes a day, then you are doing pretty well. We are beset by both the future and the past, and there is no reality apart from the here and now. – Peter Matthiessen Click here to learn how you can receive a 30 minute Mindfulness Break in your home. |

Building Faith, Building Commitment
For Buddhism, faith doesn’t mean the blind acceptance of teachings as unquestionable dogmas. Rather, faith suggests a combination of trust in the Buddha as a fully enlightened teacher, confidence in the Buddha and in his guidance, and feelings of devotion and reverence towards the Buddha. This quality of faith is to be strengthened because it’s what builds our own commitment to the entire practice. – Bhikkhu Bodhi, “Recollection of the Buddha” (Tricycle Online Retreat, June 2012) Click here to learn how you can receive a 30 minute Mindfulness Break in your home. |

I love you when you’re juicy, full of aliveness, and feeling the buzzing energy of calm excitement in your body.
I love you when you feel numb, depressed, and empty. I love you when you’re dancing on tiptoe, spinning with ecstasy and feeling grateful for the gift of being alive. I love when you’re too exhausted to care for yourself, much less anyone else. I love you when you’re smack dab in the center of your life purpose, feeling the deep joy of knowing you’re giving your gifts to the world. I love you when you’re in the space between stories, you don’t know why you’re here, and you feel lost, rudderless, and desperate to find your calling. Honestly, darling, I don’t have a preference. Others might say it, but I really mean it. I love you just the way you are. (Cue Billy Joel . . . doo wa doo wa.) Put Ourselves in Other’s Shoes
Our compassion has to go beyond illusion of separation between self and other. We have to put ourselves in the other’s shoes, not just see it from our perspective and talk at them. – HH Karmapa 17, Princeton U., April 1, 2015 Click here to learn how you can receive a 30 minute Mindfulness Break in your home. |

A Tulku’s Take on Nirvana
The essence of our consciousness is already love and wisdom. Karma, concepts, and emotional patterns are only temporarily preventing our consciousness from unfolding its enlightened nature. – Tulku Thubten Rinpoche, “Nirvana: Three Takes “ Click here to learn how you can receive a 30 minute Mindfulness Break in your home. |
