Precious Human Birth
Too much suffering is not good. If you become always manipulated by it, if suffering is always the boss, that is not good. And if you have too little suffering, you will not be inspired to pursue real happiness. That is why we speak of ‘precious human birth.’ Because being born in the human body provides just the right amount of suffering that we need in order to transform suffering into a source of wisdom and knowledge. – Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, “Trust Through Reason” Click here to learn how you can receive a 30 minute Mindfulness Break in your home. |

Settled Mind

Mind and the Weather
Ordinarily, our minds are like flags in the wind, fluttering this way and that, depending on which way the wind blows. Even if we don’t want to feel angry, jealous, lonely, or depressed, we’re carried away by such feelings and by the thoughts and physical sensations that accompany them. We’re not free; we can’t see other options, other possibilities. – Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, “The Aim of Attention “ |
